A Hungry Child Cannot Learn

$75 feeds one child for the whole school year

One in four children under five in Honduras suffers from chronic malnutrition, and the damage does not reverse. A child who arrives at school hungry cannot learn what is put in front of her.

How the Feeding Program Works

Twice a week we serve at least 120 meals at a rural K-6 school. Mothers from the community come and cook and serve, and when there are leftovers they carry them home to their own families. We sit and eat together every time. On national holidays, and at graduations, we put on something bigger, because a child should get a party and not only a plate.

More Than 44,000 Meals Since 2022

It started in 2022 with a mud oven, thirty laying hens, and about a hundred and twenty people fed twice a week at one rural school. We have served that school every year since. The land we are purchasing is how we will stop buying future meals and start growing them. See our Garden Project page to see how you can help us do this.

A Dollar Feeds A Child

$75 feeds one child for the whole school year.
$10 a month feeds a child and helps us reach more.
$10,000 feeds every child, teacher, and mother at the school for a full school year.

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness...You will be like a well-watered garden.  Isaiah 58:10-11
